Athlete’s Village, Olympic Park

The Athletes Village provided accommodation for 17,000 athletes, officials and those associated with the Games. In September 2012, the area was transformed into a community of over 2,800 homes, providing a legacy for East London.

Pyramid Builders worked on the site for 3 years, constructing blockwork to 16 of the blocks within the Athletes Village. Block N26 contained 10 individual residential buildings, an external architectural Lignacite brick (coloured and clear glass) was used for the facade.

Pyramid Builders recruited operatives from the surrounding area of Stratford to ensure the local workforce were engaged and felt part of this high-profile project, the largest in the country at the time.
