Pyramid Builders were contracted to construct the internal blockwork walls on this iconic venue for the London Olympics. Pyramid Builders were able to offer a composite package of blocklaying, scaffold access and management which produced a highly commended blockwork solution.

Pyramid Builders developed the wall design by utilising the Wi Beam and Wi Column systems by Wembley Innovation, to achieve the required loadings with minimal disruption to the aesthetics of the internal finishes. We were able to omit the requirement for the use of Windposts and concrete lintels on the entire scheme. This was a major benefit bearing in mind the effect too many movement joints would have on tiling and connections.  In addition, it allowed the M&E design optimum flexibility in the positioning of services.

During the period on site, Pyramid Builders were also awarded the insulation package which involved supplying and installing Foamglas structural insulation.
