Pyramid Builders secured the majority of Crossrail projects, providing a fully inclusive design, management, supply and install service.

Using the innovative Wi System and with 30 years of experience completing large schemes in central London, Pyramid Builders ensured that the masonry packages on these projects were run to programme and budget whilst maintaining the highest quality.

The Wi System uses reinforced blockwork to negate the requirement for large steel wind posts and unwieldy concrete lintels.

On Farringdon Station, 1,170 windposts were replaced. The Wi System offers buildability benefits, now frequently acknowledged as the only viable solution for logistically challenging projects. This is especially the case with deep station projects, where materials are craned down to the platform level via narrow shafts. The largest Wi system component weighs just 20 kgs making the loading out of the masonry materials more logistically CDM compliant.

The Wembley Innovation Wi System replaced external windposts at Farringdon Station thus satisfying bomb blast requirements.
