This project mainly involved the construction of internal blockwork to form the Darwin Centre within the new ‘Cocoon’ Wing. Works were carried out in the basement floors as well as on each of the 7 upper floors tying into the curvature of the cocoon in parts. Forming openings and the construction of reveals in Dinosaur way and in the Whale Hall involved detailed construction as the existing façade of this listed building had to be carefully preserved.
