New University of London, Russel Square

This University of London scheme for Mansell consisted of major refurbishment work to a row of listed Georgian houses with doors and windows reconfigured in solid brick wall construction. Matching extensions were added to the rear of these buildings whilst at the same time the courtyard area of the square was infilled with a fast-tracked new University building with block walls on all floors. This development totally transformed these run-down buildings making them habitable again while the under-used courtyard area was put to much better use.
