Kings Cross J1 – ArtHouse

ArtHouse, an apartment building of private homes is to the North East of the Kings Cross Development, adjacent to the Granary Building which was also recently completed by Pyramid Builders.

This building was unique in its structural design. Being built above a number of London Underground tunnels, the building required isolation between the basement and ground floor to prevent vibration and noise being transmitted through to the high specification apartments. Pyramid Builders were able to introduce the WI System in order to support masonry walls with minimal head and vertical fixings. This design was soon acknowledged by the Engineers and Architects as the only feasible option, which also contributed to significant commercial and programme benefits for the project.
